human design πŸ–Œ

NGL, I started writing about multitasking and, as luck would have it, got extremely distracted and deep dived into Human Design.

I love shit like this – it’s such a fun and externalized way to think about yourself. I’m a big proponent of self-awareness, but I think most people fail at attunement and knowing what to do with the awareness. Honestly, human design isn’t that different from any other personality test; we all love learning about ourselves.

I’ve always known about Human Design, but I never understood it or could translate it into practical terms. For those who don’t know, Human Design is a relatively new belief system that draws on ancient wisdom and other stuff to generate your β€œenergetic blueprint.” Similar to a natal chart, it uses your birth time to help determine/steer your energy flow (???).

I don’t know what I just said up there, but I also just found out that it was created by a man named Ra Uru Hu – formerly Robert Allan Krakower, an advertising executive, magazine publisher, and media producerβ€”reportedly channeled a spirit in Ibiza, according to the Definitive Book of Human Design (Women’s Health Mag). Apparently, a voice spoke to homie and blessed him with the fundamentals of Human Design. I’m honestly cracking up writing this right now. Good for him. Not all of us can take drugs and create a whole new system that provokes inner reflection and self-discovery.

Anyways, I’m sheep and filled out my human design blueprint and I have to say I am thorughly impressed. Instead of hiring a coach to translate it for me, I threw my blueprint into ChatGPT and asked it to translate it into layman's terms. It feels pretty relevant to where I am right now. Less astrology-relevant (Leo and Virgo rising!) and more in tune with where I am right now. It’s a little mind-boggling, honestly. If you’re curious, here are my stats:

❝

Type: Projector

You’re here to see systems, people, and inefficiencies clearlyβ€”and to guide rather than grind. Your value isn’t in constant output; it’s in insight, pattern recognition, and direction-setting.

At your best:

You spot what’s misaligned quickly

You optimize people, roles, and processes

Others feel β€œseen” and understood by you

Watch out for:

Overworking to prove value

Offering guidance before it’s invited

Measuring yourself by generator-style productivity

Your energy is focused and penetrating, not sustained. When you’re recognized, your impact scales fast.

BRB, gonna share this with my boss!!!

Jokes aside, it feels aligned with how I’m really starting to think about myself. We’re constantly evolving, and I’m always curious to discover what my work self will be at this stage. This articulates clearly how I perceive my role and my impact, and provides a strong foundation for why I've gravitated towards this type of work. Do you think about versions of your work self? Or am I just a weirdo? Less Girlbossing close to the sun, and more about what kind of sustainable future I want to create.

It’s also important to note that work is inextricably tied to the self because of capitalism, so you can’t really avoid it. I think Corporate America has also created a box we feel we must fill, and as the creator and content economy expand, we’re seeing how people can diversify what that might look like (if you’re cool, at least).

Anywhoo, if you’re gonna be sheep and create a blueprint, I want to know your stats. Share the goods with me so we can jam on our futures together.

So, to recap:

  • Shout out to the homie Ra Uru Hu for creating Human Design.

  • If you go to Ibiza, you might become an oracle or create a new religion/belief/company

  • If you’re not evolving, then what are you doing???
